5 weeks and 1 day

Oh wow, I cannot believe that its already been this long. Five whole weeks have gone by since I gave birth to the greatest gift God could have given me. Zachary is getting bigger. I took him to have a hearing test last week, he failed it again, however, his pediatrician checked his ear and said that his canal is curved. She said that is probably why he keeps failing the test, because they can't get a correct reading on the ear. She said, at this point, she would worry more about the price of diapers than my son not being able to hear. Haha! She's a fantastic doctor, I love her to death, and  Zachary seems to like her too, even though she pokes and prods him when we go in. I go for my six week follow up visit with the obgyn next Thursday, my doctor isn't going to be there, but I am sure the one that I will see is going to be just fine. Next month we have to go to the health department to get shots for Zach. That doesn't exactly thrill me, but I guess it's better to have vaccines than to worry about him getting the diseases that they are vaccinating him for. I did get him going on social security, so that he has a social security number. It took some running around, but I did it. They said should be maximum 6 weeks before he'll have a number.  So anyway, those are things I have to look forward to. Pretty soon we'll have to go back to JcPenney to get three month pictures done. Dang how the time flies. I certainly intend to spend every moment I can enjoying the ups and downs of being a parent. I really feel blessed that I have this opportunity. As far as the weight loss goes, I'm a little heavier than my goal, but as with everything else, with excercise and determination I will achieve what I am after. :) That's all for now, God bless and have a GREAT day.

19 days

Boy where has the time gone. It sure doesn't seem like almost three weeks ago I gave birth to this little human being. We are kind of on a schedule of some sort. We get up about every 3 to 4 hours to eat 3oz. of formula. Well, he eats, Brandon and I sit and hold the bottle and wait for burping sessions lol. Zachary sure has enjoyed all the attention he's gotten from all the grandparents, and friends that have come to see him. Sunday Ben brought the girls down to see him while he helped Brandon unload the rental truck for my mom. We sure did alot of moving this weekend, and I'm grateful for all the help that we got from everyone. I know my mom is grateful too. Anyway, Zachary is growing, the doctor praises him every time she sees him. We have to go have his hearing test redone on the 7th of July, so hopefully he passes this time. Will update :) God Bless, and hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

He's here!

Went to the hospital at 4:00pm on Wednesday afternoon after feeling yucky all day, and throwing up. After a sonogram was done the dr decided that it was going to be okay to just go ahead and induce labor. So they admitted me, and started me on pitocin. Wednesday night was miserable, labor pains and having to run to the bathroom constantly just plain sucks. By morning there was still no change, they kept increasing the pitocin and the pains started getting more intense. by 11:00am I had finally dialated enough to get an epideral. After the epideral was in I went from 3-5 in an hr. and it kept going which I was thankful for since the epideral was helping me not have to suffer. Finally around 5:30 I started getting that feeling that it was time, so they had to call the dr, who was in the middle of an emergency c-section of a baby in distress. So i pushed for a little bit w/out him, by the time he got there i was just ready to get him out. Zachary was born Thursday June 12th 2008 at 6:35pm he weighed 7lbs, 6oz. in 19.5 inches long and has a full head of black hair. He is truly our little miracle baby. Brandon and I are so grateful to God for this gift. And now the real fun begins....

long time no blog

well its been a while here. I went to the doctor last week for the last sonogram before Zachary will be here. He is about 5lbs 7oz now and has a lot of hair. The sonographer says he will probably be around 8 lbs when he is born. I can't wait, only a few more weeks left. I was also supposed to have my 2 year post-op bypass appointment on Wednesday but because I am so close to my due date and the doctors office is over an hour away I opted to cancel the appointment until the baby is born. They said that was fine.  I am getting very excited, Brandon and I both are actually. I just hope for Brandon it lasts once he's here. We have been playing the new grand theft auto game alot lately. It's fun. i haven't been getting much sleep, I just can't get comfortable. So I've been sleeping as much as I can, but that isn't much. Other than that, nothing much going on. We went to the Relay for Life in champaign this past Saturday and walked the survivor lap with Brandon's dad. 1/4 mile he made it around the track.  Well thats all for now. hope everyone that reads this is doing well.

April 21

weekend

well my weekend started early. I drove to Chicago with my mom on my birthday (wednesday april 16th). We stayed overnight downtown at the best western. We got up and went to see Oprah on Thursday. She had a sandwich cookoff. it was pretty cool. :) 3 ppl got 7k worth of Kenmore appliances for their kitchen :) So after the show we headed to Michigan. Spent the next two days runnin. Saturday was the baby shower. Mom and I ended up decorating by ourselves. Lots of people showed up. I'm glad that I got to see quite a few people from both sides of my family, and friends that I haven't seen in a while. Although I had a hard time with being the center of attention, anxiety. Ah well. I got through it. We came home yesterday and boy are we tired and sore today. Hopefully recovering won't take too long. Back to the daily grind today. Thanks to all that read this and were able to come. Sorry I missed those who weren't. Maybe we'll catch up next time I'm in town. :)
Added new pics of Zach too :)

drs appointments

Well, where do I start. I suppose I'll just sum it up to this, my dog is very sick, hoping that God will give me the answers I need to do what is right for her. She has some sort of muscle disorder/disease, so she has multiple "charlie horses" in her head and her legs. Its not fun to sit by and watch, and they drew blood the other day and will know something hopefully in 10-14 days.  As far as the baby goes, he is getting bigger. Showing 2lbs 8 ounces already and according to the sonographer is on track to be born a week early. Pictures weren't that great, so no updates this time picture wise. sorry :(
February 24

oops

well geez i think we've been to the dr twice since my last post here. And also thru two floods in our apartment, which now we have moved into a new one. so anyway, we found out in January, we're having a boy. He is pretty good sized 11oz they said in January, and his heartbeat was 160 the other day for the check up. Next month I get to do the blood glucose test and they will do another sono to check Zach's growth. :) We are getting closer. I think Brandon and I get more excited the closer we get to June. Getting ready to get invitations out for the baby showers. Having two since some live in Michigan and some live in IL. So anyway, so far so good. I've gained a total of 15lbs, according to the dr that's great, to me i feel like i gained too much, but that's the mindset u get when u've lost 205 lbs and then start gaining again! :(

December 29

2nd check up

Ok so I went to the Dr yesterday, hoping they were going to do another sonogram so I could see what we were having. When I got there, I had to wait an hour to be seen, and then once I was in there, he just wanted to listen to the baby's heartbeat. Although that's exciting too, I was really hoping to see the baby yesterday. Oh well. The next appointment is January 24th, 2008. We will hopefully be able to see on the sonogram then, whether we're having a boy or a girl. We picked out names for both already. We sat down the other night and made a list of names, for both boys and girls, and decided on Zachary Daniel for a boy and Kylie Raine for a girl.  I went shopping the other day with  Mom, and man are those 0-3 month clothes tiny.  I cant wait to know what it is we're having so i can buy clothes for him/her. Doc told me I can only lift 25 pounds and to take it easy so I dont spot anymore. When they weighed me I was at 198. *sigh* I guess it's part of being pregnant to gain the weight, but I just hope I can lose it again when I have the baby.  I know I sound like I'm being anal, but, I didn't go through all that misery from the surgery and trying to get things going just to go back to where I started.  Christmas was exhausting here. I feel like I've been in the car for the last week. I sure did enjoy bein with mom and brandon's family though. We did spend chrismas eve and Christmas at home by ourselves, that was nice.  New Years Eve, is gonna be pretty much more of the same, we're going to be at home, where pregnant women should be lol.  We'll probably watch the ball drop, if I can stay up that long. I have been going to bed around 9:30pm lately, even when I take a nap.  We are planning on being in Michigan on Jan 12th, and staying for a few days. I guess Bran has to train someone so that he can move his schedule up an hour, so he can't leave town until the 11th or 12th of jan. Well I will write more later. Happy New Year everyone.
December 04

And so begins...

The life of an unborn child. It's december 4th, i went to the dr Nov 29th. We definately have a baby in there. We're almost 14 weeks now.  My body is definately going through some changes. I have gone from being severely ill to being fine. Having horrible headaches, to being Okay. Go figure. Anyway, I've got some sonogram pictures I'm going to post up here tonight. Hope everyone is well.  Seasons Greetings :)

August 13

hot summer days

Welcome to hell, i mean, welcome to the HEAT of summer. It's been in the high 90s here for the last two weeks or so. With the heat index, that means 100's. Hot and humid, followed by more hot an humid. :P Well, lets see, not much going on in the way of my weight loss right now. Although I am finding it more and more difficult to eat, but i'm sure that has alot to do with the heat. I just still have no appetite. I know i need to eat, and sometimes i choose some poor things to eat in a pinch. You know, sugar/fat loaded crap. But, MOST of the time i'm really good.  I eat alot of fruits and vegetables most of the time. Oh, me & B went to Morton, last weekend. Nice town, i think we'll enjoy living there once we get there. B starts his job next monday, he's anxious but excited at the same time. To be honest, I am too. I know its gonna be hard on him to drive 3 hrs a day 1.5 hrs each way. We're definately going to have to move asap. I'm not sure I'm completley ready, but its inevitable. Besides, nothing says I can't come back down here to visit alot , until Mom's able to move in June.  Well, anyway, I think I posted some new pictures on here, but if not, i will try to get them up soon. :)

198.2

WOOOOOOO HOOOO! i did it! i am officially down below 200 pounds! I'm getting more physical workouts from the physical therapist guy at the drs office. He knows that i had gastric bypass and that I'm not thrilled about the extra skin I have and that I'd like to tone up my muscles any and everywhere I can. So today he worked me out big time. My whole body even.  I was there for 45 minutes today and i felt like I had really worked well today. I weighed myself tonight on a whim. I was shocked when it said 198.2! I'm excited I haven't been below 200 since I was in the sixth grade. My uncle and his family came down for the weekend. It was nice seeing everyone. The kids are growing up so much.  I took skye to the vet on thursday of last week. She had been having problems with her jaw and muscle spasms all the time. She was so bad wednesday night that me, mom and her didn't sleep very much at all. I think I got 45 minutes total in between all the spasms she was having. poor baby. Anyway, we took her to the vet the next day, and they put her on phenobarbital which is for seizures. Also put her on an antibiotic for 10 days as she has an infection somewhere in her body.  Probably the same infection that we've been passing around the house for the last month. There's a damn cold virus going around in the house. April (Ron's daughter) came down for a few weeks to visit, and she's caught the virus, so far all of us girls are on mucinex of some form. It sucks, but according the dr that mom sees thats all that can be done.  So anyway, sometime in the near future i'm going to be going to michigan to take April back home, and visit my dad and see some people in the area that i want to see. I cannot believe that i made it below 200 pounds. I didn't think I'd ever make it. It's been a long journey, but its well worth the wait. I'm still about 38-45 pounds above where I'd like to end up. I'm sure with more excercise and the help of my physical therapist I'll get there soon.  Well I should probably keep this short as it is almost 2:30am.  I will try to get pictures up soon, not really a noticable change from the last pictures I don't think really, but hell maybe someone else will see something I'm not able to.  God bless.
